Here we are ready for the next trip. Once again on Crystal Serenity, we will be visiting a number of places we haven't been to before along the western coast of Europe. The highlight of the cruise will be on August 12 when we will experience a total solar eclipse while at sea. Let's hope for clear weather on that day; the last time we had an eclipse at home, two years ago, it was completely clouded over.
Everything is ready to go. We have a late flight out that arrives in Amsterdam at 11:00 a.m. Saturday. We're looking forward to strolling around a different part of central Amsterdam, as we're staying at the Mandarin Oriental Conservatorium Hotel, near the Rijksmuseum, until Monday when we transfer to the ship.
There is a yarn shop I want to visit called Stephen & Penelope Fine Yarns. Stephen West, a very well known and popular knit designer, is one of the owners, and the shop is a must-visit for almost any knitter. If you've seen the blog for July 2025's cruise you'll remember that it was a 45 minute walk to Knitting for Olive in Copenhagen; well it will take us the same amount of time to get to Stephen & Penelope, but the walk is along the Prinsengracht, one of the nicer canals.
As always, we hope you enjoy following along with our adventures.
