Sketches from Greece and France

I had made up a couple of small portable sketchbooks to do pen and wash sketches of the places we visited on our cruises in the Greek Islands and France. I was actually able to do quite a bit during our long coach rides and had a number of my fellow guests who saw the process ask me about them.

Here they are:

In addition, I made some 4" x 6" sketches on the river cruise.

Le Pont d'Avignon

Avignon

The Hotel Dieu in Arles. Van Gogh also
painted this courtyard when he was a one-eared
patient here

St. Paul de Vence

Cluny Abbey

Chateau de Cormatin

The Palais de l'Ile in Annecy

Mountain view from the train
to Mer de Glace

I hope to be able to continue this new tradition on future cruises and trips. Keep your eye on this blog; the next trip will be in October along the St. Lawrence River and down the east coast of the U.S.
